Review of Romantic 7-Day Northern Lights Self-Drive Tour in Iceland For Couples

It was a trip of a lifetime. The ease of planning with guide to Iceland was so amazing and worth it. We were so glad we picked a self driving tour. It made it nice that Guide to Iceland coordinated the rental car, all accommodations and the itinerary. While it was amazing, the only issue we had was with the tours we scheduled through Guide to Iceland. I’m so glad they offered so many tours and amazing experiences we could add on but there were many that were canceled, due to weather or the tour company just canceled on us. When that happened, we did not always get communication from the tour company or Guide to Iceland and one time only figured out our tour was canceled once we drove hours to get there and it was the tour starting time and the tour guide told us that the tour was not going out today, yet he was doing a similar tour but we could not go. Very disappointed since I had booked it months in advance, wasted that day driving in Iceland and then it was too late to reschedule or book another tour for the day. Guide to Iceland only notified me that the tour was canceled 24 hours after my tour was scheduled. Also please note that you will want to add full rental car insurance and that was not included in the original booking. That cost me another 400 US dollars. This was surprising because I had inquired about insurance with Guide to Iceland when I was booking. Overall, it was an amazing trip and I would definitely book again with Guide to Iceland.
